Leadership Team

Tim Hardy
General Manager, Sunoco Ethanol

Tim has over 25 years of experience in the petroleum industry, from construction and maintenance to distributor operation management, and now ethanol and advanced biofuels.

Tim assumed general management responsibility for the Fulton ethanol plant in August of 2013 after serving as Area Manager, Distribution Operations from 2009 to 2013 and Senior Construction Engineer from 2001 to 2009, working in all of Sunoco's marketing areas.

In addition to his Sunoco responsibilities, Tim retired in 2013 as a Captain in the United States Navy with 30 years' experience in both active and reserve units. His most recent assignments included emergency response for the Haiti earthquake, as well as relief efforts during Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy.

Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University and has a Masters in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. Tim has also completed a fellowship at Cambridge University.

Erin Tones
Manager, Marketing and Logistics

Erin has been with the plant since its inception as Northeast Biofuels in 2007. She began her career in ethanol as a QA/QC Manager, and has since taken on responsibility for logistics and marketing for the plant. Erin is a native of the New York State Finger Lakes region.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Lehigh University and a Master of Science in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University.

Erin is a graduate and current board member of LEAD NY, the Empire State Food and Agricultural Leadership Institute.

Alex Bogawitch

Alex Bogawitch
Maintenance Manager

Alex brings 20 years' experience in manufacturing with a focus on maintenance supervision, planning, scheduling, and inventory to Sunoco Ethanol. Prior to Sunoco, Alex worked for the plant's predecessor, Northeast Biofuels as a Maintenance Planner. Prior to the ethanol industry, Alex worked for Bristol Myers Squibb in process management and operations.

Alex is a 30-year member of the Lysander Volunteer Fire department, having served in many capacities including Chief and President. Alex is also a 30-year member of the Lamson Grange and a part time farmer/auctioneer.

Guy Clemons

Guy Clemons
Production Manager

Guy is a lifelong resident of Upstate New York. He has been in the ethanol industry since 2008 when he started as a field operator with Northeast Biofuels, which is now Sunoco Ethanol and has since been promoted through the organization to his current position.

Guy holds a Bachelors degree in Technology Education from the State University of New York College at Oswego. He also holds an Associates degree in Computer Information Systems from Cayuga Community College.

Jennifer Jordan, CHMM, CSP
HES

Jennifer adds over 12 years of environmental, health and safety experience to the Sunoco Ethanol team. She is responsible for Health, Environmental and Safety (HES) regulatory compliance including reporting/inspection requirements, recordkeeping, and establishing and ensuring compliance with HES standards and procedures as it relates to the Sunoco Fulton Ethanol plant. She is also responsible for the site's Process Safety Management Program and overall plant security.

Jennifer is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and a Certified Safety Professional and currently serves as Chairperson of the Oswego County Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and Technology from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Nathan Laun

Nathan Laun
Manager of Biofuels Technologies

Nathan has over 20 years of experience in the power and biofuel production industries. He has over seven years of experience in the ethanol industry having started as QA/QC Manager, and moving into leadership roles in operations and plant management. He is currently responsible for improving the business through capital upgrades, process development, and bio-business expansion.

Nathan began his career in the Navy Nuclear Power program, where he served for eight years as a Submarine Engine Room Supervisor and Mechanical Division Lead during the first Gulf War. He left the service to attend the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry where he received his Bachelors in Biochemistry, before pursuing his graduate degree in Chemical Biology at Cornell University.
